Compared to other watersports, kiteboarding is still considered to be in its infancy. Best Kiteboarding began a few years ago by legendary skateboarder and wakeboarder, Shannon Best. An Australian native, Shannon left his homeland in his early teens to become a pro wakeboarder and was involved in the beginning phases of kiteboarding as the rest of the world learned about this fun extreme sport. It was in 2003 when Best was competing in Florida that he partnered up with kiteboarding junky Alex Shogren. Best Kiteboarding was born, and by February of 2004 the were creating stellar kiteboarding equipment.

Since then, the company's creative concepts, original designs and exceptionally made kites, kiteboards and a full lot of accessories have been drawing in kiteboarding enthusiasts from around the globe. Their cool designs and durability have become a hallmark of their gear. Shannon Best is a known trickster and his team designs boards that appeal to those extremists, both beginning and competitive level kiteboarders.
